Lady Godiva 2001-2006

We lost our Diva to colic, shortly after her fifth birthday. She was a very special horse and in her short life became one of the best trail horses we have ever had. She started her trail riding career as a three year old and rapidly turned into a true mountain horse. By her fourth birthday, we had ridden her on mountain trails over 7,000 feet above sea level. She handled the real trail obstacles with ease and rarely balked at anything. Nothing seemed to scare her. She happily ran up steep mountain trails and could never understand why the other horses wanted to stop and catch their breath.

She is seen above, aged four years, standing on top of Vanson Peak, in the Gifford Pinchot Forest, at 5,000 feet above sea level. Mt Rainier can be seen in the background.
Diva taking a break from a long day on the trail and eating dandelions, one of her favorite foods.

On top of Green Mountain at 5,000 feet.
