Callie is a double registered RMHA, KMSHA black mare with one of the smoothest and most consistent gaits of all of our horses. She is a proven mountain horse with many miles of mountain trail experience, in Washington's Cascade mountains, up to 7,000 ft above sea level. The picture above shows Callie taking a break during a long day on the trail, in Washington's Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
On April 1, 2006 Callie gave birth to a black filly who looks a lot like mom. Be sure to check out Callie's Starlet, on our mares page. Callie had a year off from breeding and took to the trails again in 2007. She was bred that spring to international champion, CD's Gambler. Her youngest baby, a chocolate colt called Callie's Gambler, was born on March 3, 2008. You can see pictures of Callie's babies by clicking on their names, in the preceding sentences.
Callie is also a winner in the show circuit, with numerous ribbons to her credit. As a three-year-old, she was RMHA international grand champion conformation mare. The picture below shows her typical gait, after winning a blue ribbon, in 2005.

Our versatile mare was the 2007 UMH Northwest Regional Western Pleasure High Point Champion.

Callie's successes in 2007 included a Reserve Champion saddle seat ribbon, at the Oregon State fair.
In spite of all of her show successes, Callie is more at home in the backcountry than in the show ring.
Callie is the calmest and safest of all of our horses. She is quite happy taking beginners for "pony rides". She quickly senses every riders' expertise level and takes care of them.
